Tambo Del Inka Hotel in Urubamba, Peru Part 1

My mom and I spent 3 weeks vacationing in Peru a couple of years ago.  We visited Machu Pichu, Amazon rainforest and Arequipa. While in the Sacred Valley aka Urubamba, we stayed at the Tambo Del Inka hotel  for 5 days during our visit in the Sacred Valley region because its close to the ruins and Machu Pichu.  The Inka Del Tambo hotel was about 1 years old when we were there  so everything was brand new, beautifully decorated and secluded from the outside world.  Its very safe, tucked away from the noise outside.  Visitors would have to get pass the security at the hotel gate to get through.

When we checked into the hotel, we were upgraded to a room with a patio where we can sit outside.  The lobby of the hotel is very spacious, I love the 3 stone frogs sitting on the lobby bench and the huge double sided fireplace. The hotel has a nice pool, part of it is outside and part of it it is inside.  You can also help yourself to the complimentary herbal  tea to prevent altitude sickness. We did not have any altitude sickness at all because we drank their tea and we had already spent 3 days in the Sacred Valley before going to Machu Pichu.

My dad has a friend Andrew from his work, Andrew and his wife visited Peru for 7 days with a tour group and they got very sick because there was no time to get acclimized. Also my mom said tour groups prefer to book hotels in Cusco, because there are cheaper hotels but its not convenient if you want to see the ruins.
