An essay on the impact of the combustion of fossil fuels part 1 by Hungry Turtle (Books that changed the world)

The combustion of fossil fuels increases global warming which creates climate change. The  carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels  (CO2)  acts as a blanket and prevents the sun’s  thermal energy from going back into space. Approximately 31,000,000,000 tons of CO2 are released per year into the atmosphere due to the combustion of these fuels. The United States releases 17% of the world's annual  fossil fuel emissions compared to Europe 27 countries which releases 13% of the worlds annual fossil fuel emissions. In addition, this can lead to frequent storms that are more powerful and destructive.  Furthermore, some animals and plants cannot adapt to the warmer climates causing extinction and more diseases thrive in warmer conditions.  If cold regions become warmer, they may be targeted by diseases, and some creatures  and humans may die as a result.
