Some facts about Media. I did not list all of my position because of controversy

* The "Free Press" should be replaced with the "Corporately  influenced Press".

For instance, many multi national corporations have extreme power over many aspects including the media.  For example, a big company may try to persuade a news worker or company not to publish a article or use facts that make the company look evil. For instance, there was a case where a documentary and article was published on the treatment of workers in some undeveloped country and how they were treated unjustly and getting sick from some pesticide that a multinational fruit company was using and how the company treated them like slaves. (I forget the name of the article and the company and do not feel like searching half an hour to find the exact details) Anyways, the person who created the documentary was sued by Dole Fruit Company and had to fight for years until finally he proved that it was true. He was threatened by Dole and Dole tried to prevent the movie festival from allowing him to play the documentary.   you can find more about this from watching Bananas, a documentary that examines dole fruit company.

* The Bottom Line is that the Media is concerned about making money.

Today, the news is not like it was. There used to be 2 sided stories, investigative journals, more facts and you make your own opinion off them. Today, it is filled with nonsense along with manipulated "News reports". Remember that the Media is like any other corporation except that it has the power to shape the peoples opinion.
